CURRENT SITUATION AT THE CLINIC
Under the government regulations, the full range of treatments we provide within the clinic come under differing rules.
Sports Therapy, sports and remedial massage and deep tissue massage treatments along with the Retül Bike Fitting Service are classed as ‘Personal Care Treatments’. If we move to another countrywide lockdown, or you are from tier 4, we will be unable to continue with fulfilling these type of appointments.
General podiatry / chiropody and biomechanic / orthotic treatments are classed as medical. These type of treatments are able to continue. However, if you are from a tier 4 area or the country is in lockdown, please consider if there is a genuine need for the appointment.
A COVID-19 SAFE CLINIC ENVIRONMENT
We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the clinic is COVID-19 safe for you and the practitioners according to, and surpassing, the Government and Governing body regulations.
We are happy to reassure you, we are in a great position to keep you safe.
If you have visited the clinic since July, you will have noticed the additions. You can see some photographs of the changes below along with some instructions ‘what to expect at your appointment’ if you are planning to visit the clinic.
We are still in uncertain times and things may need to change within the clinic at short notice but for now:-
We as practitioners will be checking our symptoms and temperatures daily and also any patient’s when entering the clinic.
If a practitioner felt unwell or is showing signs of the virus we would need to cancel or change their appointments at short notice.
If a patient is showing any signs of the virus or has a high temperature we would not be able to treat them at that time.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT
You will be asked a few screening questions to ensure it is safe for us to treat you and for you to continue with the appointment.
We will also take your temperature before your appointment using a contactless device.
We ask that you arrive on time, rather than early for your appointment, so reducing time spent in the waiting area(s).
We ask that you come to the clinic alone unless absolutely necessary, for medical assistance for example.
We will ask you to take full advantage of our sanitising station as you enter the clinic and again as you leave but try to keep the surfaces you touch to a minimum.
We ask that you wear some form of face covering (mask or visor) to your appointment.
The toilet will be available for emergencies, but please try to use the toilet at home before you leave.
We would prefer for you to pay using contactless card payment, if possible. If you need to pay by cash, please try to have the correct fee.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR PRACTITIONERS
We have allowed additional time between patients to enable us to thoroughly clean the treatment room, waiting area chairs, door handles and banisters after each patient has left.
We have installed a perspex screen around reception to help maintain social distancing between you and the reception.
We will be checking practitioners temperature and signs of symptoms daily.
Jonathan will get back to you within 48 hours to advise on a solution for your emergency foot health concerns. This may include an emergency clinic visit.
Before you email – ask yourself these questions…
Are you in DESPERATE NEED to be seen?
An ugly toe nail or bit of painless callus is not desperate. Infection risk and Very Severe Pain is desperate and of course we will do our best to see you in a controlled environment.
Are you AT RISK?
COPD, Lung Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, Over 70 and/or in general poor health.
These are factors that put you at risk of serious complications if you contract COVID-19.
If you are in desperate need of our care, of course we will try to see you, but please let us know your situation so we can ensure your safety and make sure your appointment is timed appropriately for your own safety.
HAVE YOU BEEN ANYWHERE...
Have you been anywhere or been in contact anyone in the last 3 weeks that has put you in likely contact with COVID-19?
- Are you travelling from a tier 3 or tier 4 area?
- Anywhere overseas?
- Densely populated cities in the UK e.g. London, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds?
- Any largely populated gatherings or nursing homes?
- Share home space with someone with COVID – 19?
- If you answered yes to any of the above, even if you are not symptomatic, please follow government rules and restrictions for your particular situation and help slow the spread of COVID-19.
STAY AT HOME IF YOU HAVE CORONAVIRUS SYMPTOMS
Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms!
- A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- Loss of taste and or smell
- Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
- Use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do.
But we want to do our best to help keep people safe. It may feel a little strange with all the additional PPE and safety measures but we are still the same clinic underneath it all, ready to give you the best possible experience we can.
